Series & Revisions

The -S (Kinetix 6000, SERCOS) and -M (Kinetix 6200 / 6500) suffixes are different control families and do not interchange on a rail.

Series notes: Match the suffix. Within the same catalog number, flash the replacement to the firmware revision the Logix project expects before substituting.

Intended Use

Designed for Kinetix 6000 line and control power applications. The line interface module provides the main contactor, fusing and 24V control power for a Kinetix 6000 power rail in one panel-mount unit.

Migration Path

Rockwell Automation has discontinued the Kinetix 6000 (2094-xxxx-S) and published Kinetix 5700 as the successor for the whole 2094 family. Published successor for the Kinetix 6000 / 6200 / 6500: Kinetix 5700 (2198-P power supply, 2198-D dual-axis and 2198-S single-axis inverters).

Kinetix 5700 is Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP: the 1756-M08SE / M16SE SERCOS module (Kinetix 6000) or the 2094-EN02D-M01-S0 EtherNet/IP control modules (6500) give way to a 1756-EN2T/EN2TR or CompactLogix 5380 port, and axes are rebuilt as CIP Motion axes in Studio 5000.
Existing MP-Series motors with Hiperface feedback stay in service through the 2198-H2DCK Hiperface-to-DSL feedback converter kit; existing 2090 motor power cables are reused with it, so motors and cabling do not have to be replaced in the same outage.
The 2094 power rail is replaced by Kinetix 5700's shared DC-bus zones (2198-P supply, bus-bar connectors and 2198-CAPMOD capacitor modules); size the system from GMC-SG001 using the existing axis power and bus-sharing groups.

A like-for-like replacement or a repair keeps the existing program, wiring and panel layout; a migration is a project. Both are listed on this page so the choice can be made on lead time and budget.
