NJT Automation Authenticity & Refurbishment Policy

Public Statement · Effective immediately

NJT Automation is committed to transparency, safety, and accuracy in the resale, repair and refurbishment of industrial automation hardware. This policy outlines how we evaluate, identify, and represent all Allen-Bradley and other OEM products sold or repaired by NJT Automation or through the RepairMode platform. These standards reflect industry best practices for responsible resale of industrial automation equipment.

1. Independent Reseller Status
  • NJT Automation is an independent reseller and repair provider.
  • We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Rockwell Automation or any other OEM unless explicitly stated.
  • OEM trademarks (including “Allen-Bradley” and “Rockwell Automation”) are used solely to identify the products.
2. Product Authenticity Standards

Each item received by NJT Automation is visually reviewed for signs consistent with genuine OEM construction. This review may include:

  • General inspection of labels and markings.
  • Basic review of enclosure/casing condition and overall build characteristics.
  • Checking for obvious signs of relabeling, tampering, non-OEM components or used/wear items on items sold as new-old stock or unused surplus.

If an item shows clear inconsistencies or indicators that raise authenticity concerns, the item may be returned and the supplier may be restricted from future sales.

3. Refurbishment & Evaluation Practices

When NJT refurbishes or evaluates equipment, the process may involve:

  • Visual and physical inspection
  • Power-on or baseline functional checks (when appropriate)
  • Cleaning, component replacement, or repair using reputable aftermarket, non-OEM and or used parts
  • Assessment of general operation

NJT does not claim full OEM-level functional validation of every feature. All refurbishment is independent and not OEM-authorized.

4. Condition Representation

All items sold by NJT Automation are considered pre-owned surplus even if they are in a factory-sealed box. Our condition categories are:

  • Sealed Surplus / New Old Stock, Factory-sealed OEM packaging; item is still classified as pre-owned surplus.
  • Pre-Owned Surplus (New Open Box), Packaging opened or missing; no evidence of installation or use.
  • Pre-Owned (Previously Used), Item shows signs of installation or handling; may be reconditioned or repaired.
  • For Parts / Core, Nonfunctional or incomplete items sold for repair, salvage, or rebuild.

NJT does not represent any pre-owned or refurbished item as factory new or new.

For a plain-English explanation of these terms and how other sellers use them, see our guide to second-hand Allen-Bradley condition labels.

5. Repairs & Replacement Components

For items repaired by NJT or handled by NJT Automation through the RepairMode technician network:

  • All work is performed by independent technicians, not OEM repair centers
  • Replacement components are sourced from reputable suppliers at the technician's discretion
  • No OEM warranty, endorsement, or certification is implied
  • OEM packaging is not recreated or re-applied to repaired items

Repaired items are supported only by NJT’s independent warranty.

6. Warranty Disclosure

NJT Automation provides a 1-Year Functional Warranty on most products. This warranty reflects NJT’s own evaluation and does not represent a manufacturer’s warranty.

Product photos may show a representative unit. Serial numbers and date codes shown in photos may differ from the item shipped. NJT Automation does not guarantee serial number sequencing.

7. Commitment to Transparency & Integrity

NJT Automation is dedicated to:

  • Honest and accurate representation of product condition
  • Preventing counterfeit or misrepresented products from entering the market
  • Responsible refurbishment and repair practices

Our goal is to provide high-quality pre-owned surplus automation equipment while upholding industry-leading transparency and respect for OEM brand integrity. NJT Automation aims to set a high standard for transparency, accuracy, and responsibility within the industrial surplus market.
