Part Number Decoder | Kinetix 6200 / 6500 AM power module 2094BMP5-M
Decoded from the Rockwell Automation catalog-number structure. Series and firmware revision are printed on the product label, not encoded here.
Series & Revisions | Series A in stock; other series on request. The -S (Kinetix 6000, SERCOS) and -M (Kinetix 6200 / 6500) suffixes are different control families and do not interchange on a rail. Series notes: Match the suffix. Within the same catalog number, flash the replacement to the firmware revision the Logix project expects before substituting.
Intended Use | Designed for multi-axis coordinated servo motion applications. Kinetix 6000 axis modules add axes on the shared power rail for coordinated multi-axis machines: packaging, converting, printing, web handling, material handling and pick-and-place, with SERCOS or EtherNet/IP motion from a Logix controller.
Migration Path | Rockwell Automation has discontinued the Kinetix 6000 (2094-xxxx-S) and published Kinetix 5700 as the successor for the whole 2094 family. Published successor for the Kinetix 6000 / 6200 / 6500: Kinetix 5700 (2198-P power supply, 2198-D dual-axis and 2198-S single-axis inverters).
A like-for-like replacement or a repair keeps the existing program, wiring and panel layout; a migration is a project. Both are listed on this page so the choice can be made on lead time and budget.

Failure patterns we regularly see on Kinetix 6200 / 6500 AM power module hardware like the 2094-BMP5-M:
- Motor brake output failure: brake relay or brake driver on the control board not releasing the motor brake
- Power rail connector pins bent, burned or backed out: module not recognized in that slot
- Logic power supply on the module shorted, pulling down control power for the whole rail
- Motor feedback lost / illegal Hall state (E07 / E11): failed feedback interface board, encoder supply, or a bent pin in the MF connector
- Ground fault (E34) that follows the module, not the motor: IGBT leakage or a current sensor fault
