Intended Use | Intended for high-power single-axis servo motion applications. Kinetix 7000 drives run 22 to 149 kW servo and induction motors on presses, extruders, winders, large converting lines, test stands and metal-forming machines under a Logix controller over Sercos. Discontinued in 2023, so most demand is like-for-like replacement or repair to avoid a Kinetix 5700 / PowerFlex 755 migration. Safe Torque Off lets the drive sit in the machine's safety circuit without an external contactor.
Migration Path | Rockwell Automation discontinued the Kinetix 7000 in December 2023. Published successor for the Kinetix 7000: Kinetix 5700 (2198) for servo axes; PowerFlex 755 (20G) with Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP for induction-motor axes.
A like-for-like replacement or a repair keeps the existing program, wiring and panel layout; a migration is a project. Both are listed on this page so the choice can be made on lead time and budget.
