Migration Path

Panasonic has ended production of the MINAS A5 series and publishes MINAS A6 as its replacement. Published successor for the Panasonic MINAS A5 / A5II: the equivalent MINAS A6 drive (A6SF / A6SE, same frame letter) and A6 motor of the same frame size.

A6 motors keep the A5 flange, shaft and mounting dimensions for the equivalent frame, but the encoder changes to 23-bit absolute, so drive and motor are replaced as a pair rather than mixed.
Panasonic's A5-to-A6 replacement guide cross-references drive and motor part numbers and parameter changes; set-up moves to PANATERM for A6.
