Intended Use

Intended for single-axis Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP applications. Kinetix 350 drives run one servo axis under a CompactLogix or ControlLogix controller over CIP Motion, on labelers, cartoners, case packers, pick-and-place stations, feeders and small assembly machines where a few axes need Logix-level coordination. Safe Torque Off lets the drive sit in the machine's safety circuit without an external contactor.

Migration Path

Rockwell Automation has discontinued the Kinetix 350. Published successor for the Kinetix 350: Kinetix 5300 (2198-C), Rockwell's current single-axis Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP drive.

Kinetix 5300 is a CIP Motion axis like the Kinetix 350, so the Logix axis configuration is rebuilt against the new drive profile in Studio 5000 (v33 or later) rather than translated.
Existing MP-Series motors with Hiperface feedback are supported: 2090-CFBM7DD feedback cables plug straight into the 15-pin connector, flying-lead cables terminate in the 2198-K53CK-D15M kit. TLP motors are the native motor line.
Mounting and connector layout differ from the 2097, so plan panel changes. Safe Torque Off stays hardwired on both drives; the 5300 covers a wider power range (0.05 to 7.5 kW).

A like-for-like replacement or a repair keeps the existing program, wiring and panel layout; a migration is a project. Both are listed on this page so the choice can be made on lead time and budget.
