Kinetix 300 buying & repair guidance
When replacing or repairing a Kinetix 300, use the complete catalog number from the drive nameplate. Voltage, power rating, and configuration must match the application.
Common Kinetix 300 problems
- Drive will not power up or shows a blank status display (failed internal power supply)
- Bus undervoltage or overvoltage faults (E09 / E10) from weak incoming power, DC bus capacitor aging, or regen energy
- Feedback lost or illegal Hall state faults (E07 / E11) from encoder cables, the 15-pin feedback connector, or a failed encoder supply
- Encoder communication or data faults (E30 / E31) with intelligent encoders
Before replacing a drive
Confirm the complete catalog number and verify the fault is actually originating in the drive. Motor, encoder, cabling, power, and configuration problems can produce similar symptoms.
Kinetix 300 and Kinetix 350 (-LM) drives are different platforms and should not be treated as direct substitutes.
Repair or replace?
For an existing machine, repairing the original drive or installing a like-for-like replacement is usually the simplest way to avoid unnecessary controls changes.
For obsolete or difficult-to-source units, component-level repair can extend the life of the existing system without requiring a platform migration.
