PowerFlex 4 buying & repair guidance
When ordering or requesting a quote, include the full catalog string from the unit's nameplate. Series and revision letters affect fit, firmware, and application compatibility.
Common PowerFlex 4 failures
- DC bus capacitor wear leading to undervoltage or overvoltage trips
- IGBT or power stage failure after overload or grounding faults
- Cooling fan failure and thermal faults
- Control board or I/O option module communication errors
Series & revision differences
Frame size, voltage class, and control options (encoder, EtherNet/IP, Safe Torque Off) must align. Catalog suffixes often encode firmware and option packages. Verify against the existing nameplate.
Repair or replace?
Repair is cost-effective for intermittent faults and board-level failures. Replace when the drive is obsolete, horsepower needs have changed, or a plant standard requires a newer PowerFlex generation.
